Ethan T. Mock

Profile

Ethan Mock is Of Counsel at GableGotwals. His practice focuses on a wide range of matters involving administrative and regulatory law, Native American law, energy and natural resources, and oil and gas title and leasing matters. He has experience in oil and gas lease processing, administrative appeals, and both tribal and federal regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining the Firm, Ethan worked for the Eastern Oklahoma Regional Office of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, where he supervised oil and gas leasing operations across the region, including new lease approvals, assignments, and permitting. He oversaw compliance with federal regulations and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and communicated directly with the Bureau of Land Management, Office of Natural Resources Revenue, and the Bureau of Trust Fund Administration on regulatory and royalty matters. He also drafted administrative appeal decisions related to oil and gas leasing and surface and subsurface use issues.

Before Ethan’s tenure with the BIA, he was in private practice for nine years, where he garnered a strong background in oil and gas law. His practice focused on oil and gas title examination, including drafting drill site and division order title opinions. Ethan also gained experience in advising clients on complex issues related to state and federal oil and gas regulations, oil and gas lease clause language, oil and gas lease disputes, and other real property related issues.

Ethan earned his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law, where he was Notes and Comments Editor of the Energy Law Journal and served as President of the Native American Law Student Association. He also earned CALI Awards for Basic Corporations & Selling and Leasing of Goods.
