Nathan H. Atkins is a Shareholder at GableGotwals, where his practice focuses on business transactional matters. He advises corporate clients regarding private market mergers & acquisitions, commercial finance, joint ventures, securities, investor relations, and general corporate governance. Nathan also counsels institutional investors, family offices, endowments, and foundations with respect to alternative asset investments, including primary fund commitments, co‑investments, GP‑led and LP‑led secondary transactions, and separately managed accounts across asset classes, investment strategies, and industry verticals. He routinely acts as outside general counsel to his clients, providing practical advice on a range of day-to-day operational matters.
Before joining the Firm, Nathan previously practiced at major international law firms headquartered in New York and Silicon Valley, advising private equity and venture capital sponsors and investors in connection with fundraising, operational, and wide-ranging transactional matters. He has also served as in-house general counsel to a global investment firm and SEC registered investment adviser.
Beyond his corporate law focus, Nathan maintains an active political law practice. He advises candidates and campaign committees, drawing upon substantial prior public service experience. Nathan has been a trusted advisor to prominent officials across federal, state, and tribal governments.
