Joya Rutland is an associate in the Tulsa office of GableGotwals, where she previously worked as a Summer Associate. Her practice focuses on commercial and business law. She also advises clients in labor and employment and insurance law.
Prior to joining the Firm, she was a judicial internal for the Hon. Judge David B. Lewis, Vice Presiding of the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals and a kindergarten teacher at Teach for America.
Joya received her J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law where she graduated with honors. She competed in the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition and was a member of Phi Delta Phi. She served on the Board of Advocates, as well as the Dean’s Leadership Council. She also earned the American Jurisprudence award in both Advanced Legal Research and Family Law. Joya received her B.S. at Oklahoma State University where she was Vice President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and selected as a Senior of Significance.
