Tom C. Vincent II presented an overview of cybersecurity risks and requirements for business owners to clients of Rich & Cartmill at a client appreciation event at the Hard Rock Hotel in November 2016. He also spoke in February 2017 to NALS in Tulsa on “The New Reality of Ransomware: Understanding Prevention and Mitigation”, and in March 2017 to the Tulsa County Bar Association Paralegal Section on “Practical Cybersecurity: The First Line of Defense”. Coming up in March, Tom will address University of Tulsa law students on personal and professional cybersecurity, and in April will present on cybersecurity as part of the TCBA’s Annual Free CLE program.
Blaine Schwabe spoke in Oklahoma City at the 2016 AALA Agricultural Law Symposium, regarding secured creditor issues, on program entitled A Changing Farm Economy: Agricultural Bankruptcies.
Rick Noulles was a presenter on recent developments in energy litigation at Tulsa County Bar Energy & Mineral Law Section quarterly section meeting fourth quarter.
Craig Regens and Sid Swinson spoke to the Oklahoma Society of CPAs at their Oil & Gas Conference regarding oil and gas company chapter 11. Sid presented on the roles played by committees, such as the secured and unsecured creditors’ committees, and professionals, including attorneys and financial advisors. Craig presented on the role of, and critical considerations for, oil and gas company debtors-in-possession.
Chris Thrutchley spoke to numerous human resources groups including the Tulsa EEO Coordinator’s Association on best practices for avoiding wrongful discharge claims, the Association of Legal Administrators on best practices regarding employee handbooks and the Tulsa County Bar Association’s Employment Law Update CLE on recent employment law developments and the Oklahoma Bar Association Labor and Employment seminar regarding the importance of updating your employee termination checklist Chris and Lauren Oldham presented at the Tulsa Area HR Association’s Annual Labor and Employment Law Seminar on OSHA’s new anti-retaliation rule and its impact on post-accident drug testing.

Deborah Shallcross hosted a Connecting Circle for Leadership Level Donors of the Tulsa Area United Way Women’s Leadership Counsel. She presented on how the work environment for women has changed over the past 50 years and what women can do mentor other women who are starting out in their careers.
