Mia vahlberg
Mia Vahlberg's law practice is focused on litigation matters, primarily disputes related to oil & gas exploration and marketing.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mia worked in the oil & gas industry as a natural gas marketer for a major oil company, then went on to co-found one of the first companies to sell natural gas directly to end users. Mia also has experience as a CPA. In addition to her oil & gas practice, Mia has litigated a variety of other issues such as:
- insurance disputes
- construction issues
- trade secrets
- probate
Mia was a contributing editor to A State-by-State Guide to Construction & Design Law, Second Edition
(ABA, 2009). In the Tulsa community, Mia serves on the Board of the Tulsa Global
Alliance and is a member of the Alliance Française. She also volunteers as a coach
for the Lakeside Mock Trial Team.
Mia's recent experience includes:
Defense of oil & gas company in fraud claim arising out of sale of producing property. Mia obtained a rare state court summary judgment ruling, which was affirmed on appeal.
Defense of natural gas processor/gatherer in gas purchase contract dispute. Mia was again able to obtain a favorable summary judgment ruling on a complex breach of contract claim.
Defense of oil & gas royalty class action.
Defense of oil & gas company in multi party title dispute.
Defense of wind energy facility in injunction action, which was denied after bench trial.
Defense of employee in action alleging misappropriation of trade secrets.
