James M. Sturdivant joined Gable & Gotwals in 1964. Prior to attending law school, Jim served two years active duty as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Jim has served as counsel in hundreds of cases involving business disputes, anti-trust, contracts, trade regulation, financing, and securities. He has served as lead trial counsel in over 100 actions, and in many more that were resolved before trial. He has handled cases in state and federal courts at all levels.

Jim is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers (inducted 1982), and was named one of the “Top 10 Attorneys in Oklahoma” in 2007 by Oklahoma Magazine. He has consistently been named as a top tier lawyer by Chambers USA and a “Top 50 in Oklahoma” by Super Lawyers. Jim has also been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in the areas of antitrust law, bet-the-company litigation, commercial litigation, energy law and securities law.
